The Alentejo covers roughly a third of mainland Portugal, packed with archaeological sites, monuments, and traditions, alongside a food and wine scene few regions can match. Turismo do Alentejo e Ribatejo is the official regional entity responsible for turning that heritage into an experience visitors can actually follow, region wide.

Codepoint built Rotas Culturais, a mobile app that brings four thematic routes, covering megalithic sites, forts and fortifications, baroque architecture, and Avieiro culture, to travellers exploring the region on foot or by car.

Key capabilities

- Self guided itineraries of 3 to 7 days, with distance, duration, and practical tips for each route
- Audio guides in four languages, narrating the stories and legends behind monuments and points of interest
- Proximity notifications, alerting travellers as they get close to a site along the route
- A map view for locating routes, restaurants, hotels, and attractions across the region
- A back office that lets the tourism board manage and update all the app's content

The result is a digital companion that turns a region rich in history into something visitors can discover step by step, with the tourism board fully in control of the story it tells.
