Comunidade Intermunicipal do Douro [CIMDOURO]

The Douro Intermunicipal Community, CIM Douro, brings together 19 municipalities and over 200,000 residents in one of Portugal's most historic and visited wine regions. With that much ground to cover, CIM Douro wanted a single digital tool that could act as a tour guide for the entire area.

Codepoint built Discover Douro, a mobile app and companion back office, designed as a complete tourist guide to the region.

What the app offers:
- Personalized recommendations based on each visitor's interests, from wine tourism and nature to religious, cultural, and adventure tourism
- Municipality by municipality exploration, with history, suggested places to visit, itineraries, and local events
- Detailed itineraries showing duration, distance, group size, and day by day plans, ready to save, download, or share
- An interactive map to locate points of interest, filtered by category, municipality, or passport status
- The Douro Passport, a stamp collecting feature that rewards visitors who complete it with an official certificate
- A back office where CIM Douro manages all app content directly

The result is a digital companion built to make exploring the Douro easier and more rewarding, turning a visit to the region into something closer to a game worth finishing. It's also a good example of Codepoint's experience building tourism apps, where local knowledge, content management, and a genuinely enjoyable user experience all have to work together.
